Cause and Effect Every problem has a solution and there can be many solutions to a problem.  Every solution has a consequence and it might be a positive or a negative one.  Because of this, It is important for the preschoolers to understand: How our character and personality affect the choices we make. OR  How our character and personality may be affected by the choices we make. This week, the preschoolers have been exposed to many different situations that show them the concept of cause and effect.  They are beginning to understand the idea that ' CAUSE ' is the REASON why something happened and that  EFFECT  is the ' RESULT' of what happened.    They did a sorting activity wherein they decided if the photo is a cause, or, effect.  Once they have decided, they needed to provide a reason or a result. "Knowing yourself is the beginning of wisdom" - Artistotle - Self-awareness is important to everyone, even in the early years of the children's lives. This helps children become more reflective and think about their actions and behaviours and how these affect other people around them .  It gives them perspectives as they learn how to step back and consider what others around them are experiencing.  Empathy.  Putting oneself into other people's shoe.  From the physical characteristics, likes, dislikes, preschoolers look at themselves and identify their personalities.  This is how they look like from the outside,    They then traced themselves, colored the inside with just one color. Character  is who you are, when nobody else is looking... Preschool unpacked further what CHARACTER is. Outside traits are also known as the physical traits, which are seen or visible.  It also refers to how a person looks like. Inside Traits cannot be seen unless it is expressed from one's thoughts, actions, words, and feelings.  Each person has an outside and inside traits which define who they are. Guess who we are!  The preschools looked at a mirror and studied their facial features. Who we are ... an inquiry into the nature of the self; beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communities, and cultures. Preschool's new unit focuses on the transdiciplinary theme, 'Who we are' In this unit, the students will look at the central idea, 'Our relationships with others build our character and personality.' What are the different kinds of relationships? The preschoolers sorted out pictures according to similarities, connections, and relationships. Together we identified 4 kinds of relationships. 1. Romantic Relationship  2. Family Relationship 3. Friends  4. Acquaintances  Do I know my own feelings? Children should develop skills in understanding their own emotions and knowing how to react to certain situations. This emotional awareness is important for them to better know and understand themselves, their personalities and characteristics and how these affect their relationships with others.  Using the Emoji Compass Activity, the preschoolers were presented with a scenario and decided on which emojis to go: happy, angry, sad, worried or calm.
