Holidays around the corner

As the holidays come closer, DSKI parents and students have been busily preparing!  The christmas tree started empty but has slowly decorated with colorful ornaments created by the students . The preschoolers created an elf with a photo of them.  Each of the students carefully chose a spot to hang their ornament. Then we each watched as they carefully planted it on the tree.     We are looking forward for the christmas tree lighting event on Monday! We will also receive the Advent Calendar, a gift from the PTA and will start counting down the days until Christmas!

Field Trip

FIELD TRIP Children who experience a holistic development during their younger school years grow up to become global citizens.  Taking the students out of the classroom  is important because it provides a balance between indoor and outdoor activities. It prepares them for what it is like in the real world.  As part of our unit on How The World Works which focuses on the science of living things, the preschoolers went out on a field trip to Rokkosan Pasture. They were able to make connections on how they, as preschoolers socially interact with one another inside the classroom.   The parents who joined the trip also became the teachers a...

Sleep Over

It started one afternoon, the 20th of April.... They walked back to school with their parent/s beside them.  Excited about the sleep over that's precious as a gem!    They entered the room with their parents to set up their beddings, laid down the pillow, stuff toys, and books for the night readings.   Some performed a little crazy stunts, amusing laughter and loud shrieks, Which I anticipated as a teacher, to be nervous coping techniques!  When setting up was done, we documented the night,  With a lovely group photo of me, the students and parents on site.    They said their goodnight, sleep tight,  don't let the bed bugs bite.  Off they went and that's the start of change, that  happened th...
