PRESCHOOLERS are Performers

Unit of Inquiry In our year long unit on "How we express ourself", the class made our own play of  The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle . The preschoolers went through the production process from choosing the story, the characters they want to be, the instruments to play, song, movements, and the costumes (of course with the help of the parents too!). Preschoolers watched the video together and celebrated how they have grown and changed to be risk-takers!  Enjoy the final presentation of the Perky Preschoolers as they performed the play, of The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

PRESCHOOLERS Led Conferences

STUDENT LED CONFERENCES What else would be a best way to end the school year, than with the Preschoolers leading their own conferences!    It was full of anticipation as they sat and waited for their parents to join in their meeting.   Some of them took a while to warm up and speak up but it didn't take them much longer to be finally comfortable.    As expected, the 20 minutes Student Led Conference was just an idea! Some of them just carried on and on and wouldn't want to stop talking about their works and teaching their parents. Sharing Numeracy, Literacy, UOI and daily routines with their parents filled the Perky Preschoolers' hearts with pride.    I am immensely proud of what these young Perky Preschoolers have become!  They did it! Job well done Preschoolers!

PRESCHOOLERS and The Things They Value

Unit of Inquiry (UOI) Celebrations, Cultures, Values, and Beliefs The Preschoolers explored different celebrations. During the picture walk, they signed up their names on the ones that they celebrate with their family.    We even played charade and acted out words that are connected to our topic!  The preschoolers had so much fun!  The preschoolers had so much fun!  COAT OF ARMS ... The preschoolers started looking at their family histories and created their own  'Family Tree'.  This activity enables the preschoolers to know the members of their extended family, this is important in gaining a deeper understanding of who they are.  They also had a 'Mapping Activity' wherein t hey looked at maps to guide their inquiry on the sense of the world. This activity helps them perceive themselves as to where they are in place and time.    Through this mapping activity, they discovered: The places / countries they have been to The country/ies where their parents and grandparents are from The location of their country and the continent where it belongs to Understand how and why people go to different places  Preschoolers will continue digging deeper at their family histories when we come back after the Golden Week!
