Today marks the end of the Perky Preschool Class 2021 - 2022!

What a roller coaster ride it has been!

It was a year filled with sighs, cries, complains, 'pampararampam - pampam', but above all, singing, laughter, hugs, love, and happiness.

It was the year we celebrated the sixes' proved to the whole DSKI community that as what Dr. Seuss' said, "a person's a person no matter how small."

Together, their voices were heard.

Together, they grew.

Together, they shone.

Together, they are capable of achieving more than what they are expected to do.

And with that, Ms. Faye's Perky Preschool shares with you their Taking Action video on What a Wonderful World.

Amidst the chaos in this world, within ourselves, it is still a wonderful world!

PRESCHOOLERS and their FAMILIES

The FAMILY TREE helps the Preschoolers understand the relationship of each members of their family. This representation helps them understand the roles of the mother, father, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, and cousins play in their life history. The Preschoolers continued to inquire about the personal histories of their family. They worked on their own Family Tree and have started SORTING OUT information that they have gathered from the interview with their parents, discussions and their own knowledge about the members of their family. Unit 4: Where We Are in Place and Time

The transdisciplinary theme, Where we are in place and time prepares the students to an inquiry into orientation in place and time, personal histories, homes and journeys, discoveries, explorations, and migration of humankind, the relationships between and the interconnectedness of individuals and civilizations, from local and global perspectives. In this unit, Preschoolers will be looking at the Central Idea Personal histories allow us to reflect on and celebrate growth and change . The Lines of Inquiry are: Important events that lead to change and Personal change from birth to present: self and family As we dive deeper in the unit, they will understand Key Concepts: Perspectives "What are the different points of view?" Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth. Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families. It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.
