Why do we change?

"How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before it was afternoon.
December is here before its June.
My goodness how the time has flown.
How did it get so late so soon?"
- Dr. Seuss -

How can we organize important memories in our life?
What can we use to show our growth and development?

Together, the preschoolers inquired what a TIMELINE is.

They created a chronological representation of a period in time from birth to present.

They wrote down important events or a milestone in their life.

This activity gives a glimpse about the evidence of change.

This support the inquiry process by making the students celebrate growth.

This timeline guided their thinking process as they began to write down the details of their Personal Stories.

The timeline also reflected their uniqueness and their values.

They wrote about memorable or important places.

Things they love.

Simple accomplishments.

And beautiful memories they were told or remembered

TIME

and as they continuously dive in the concept of time, they made and decorated their own clock in class.

They learned how to tell in o'clock and half past time.

The movement of the clock in a clock wise motion meant that days will only keep on moving forward and will never come back.

That is the reason why everyone grows and change.

Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.  A few needed gentle support to stay engaged. On the other hand, many confidently shared their work, explained clas...

Field Trip

FIELD TRIP Children who experience a holistic development during their younger school years grow up to become global citizens.  Taking the students out of the classroom  is important because it provides a balance between indoor and outdoor activities. It prepares them for what it is like in the real world.  As part of our unit on How The World Works which focuses on the science of living things, the preschoolers went out on a field trip to Rokkosan Pasture. In here, the students were immersed and had access to a different environment,  the farm habitat together with the animals who live there.  They experienced interactive learning by feeding and getting up close with these friendly and hungry goats. They observed how the animals shared space and played inside their homes. They were able to make connections on how they, as preschoolers socially interact with one another inside the classroom.   The parents who joined the trip also became the teachers a...
