Working Together

TAKING ACTION

The students are keeping in mind the importance of plants to all living things.

Plants - being the ONLY one that can make its own food,
and
Plants - being the ONLY one that gives us the air or oxygen to live.

We have to do something to preserve the plants!

They started bringing all sorts of seeds to plant at school.
To watermelon seeds, onion stalks, flowers, grapes..

They chose a spot where the plants can get sunshine.

They dug the soil.

Put in the seeds.

And watered them.

They did everything that the plants need in order to grow.

Students will take turns watering the plants daily.
Hopefully these tiny seeds will show us some sprouts before the end of the school year in Preschool.

HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES

For the unit on How we express ourselves, the preschoolers used their imagination to create different art work on the ipad.

They chose their own  subject and used the different tools on the drawing app to represent it.

They they uploaded their works on seesaw.

And this year, all the Lower Primary students are collaborating to create a video presentation in connection to the unit on How we express ourselves.

Students from Preschool, Grade 1 and Grade 2 were grouped and they are working on one presentation.

The story was written by the Preschoolers based on their unit on Imagination.
Grade 2 will create the props and and the settings from their unit on Visual arts.
While the Grade 1 students will work on the lights and sound effects based on their unit on Lights and Sounds.

It is a wonderful opportunity to see how all the students in the Lower Primary can work  and lead their learning together.

We will see the output before the end of the school year!

Field Trip

FIELD TRIP Children who experience a holistic development during their younger school years grow up to become global citizens.  Taking the students out of the classroom  is important because it provides a balance between indoor and outdoor activities. It prepares them for what it is like in the real world.  As part of our unit on How The World Works which focuses on the science of living things, the preschoolers went out on a field trip to Rokkosan Pasture. In here, the students were immersed and had access to a different environment,  the farm habitat together with the animals who live there.  They experienced interactive learning by feeding and getting up close with these friendly and hungry goats. They observed how the animals shared space and played inside their homes. They were able to make connections on how they, as preschoolers socially interact with one another inside the classroom.   The parents who joined the trip also became the teachers a...
