Who We Are

Adults have a great impact in the lives of the children.

We are the most valuable resource they have during their development

We can be intentional with our words

with our actions

and be encouraging

in their pursuit to finding out who they are.

To these children

our words become theirs

our actions become their personalities

and the way we relate with them nourish the seeds of their characters.

Who we are, are often the very things that becomes them.

- Ms. Faye -

This week the Perky Preschoolers started on the new unit inquiring on "Our relationships with others build our character and personality" under the Transdisciplinary Theme, Who We Are.

This unit will focus on the following Lines of Inquiry and Concepts:

  • Different personalities and characters (Form)

  • Different relationships with people (Connection)
  • Our characters and personalities affect our relationships (Causation)

As they go through the inquiry process, the Preschoolers will approach their learning as they continue to develop on their social and thinking skills.

As Tuning In activity, the Preschoolers explored some of their physical characteristics. They measured their height using their handspans.

They also traced their hand and stamped their finger prints.

We all have different fingerprints and just like our fingerprints, we are all unique!

Numeracy
In connection to our current unit, the preschoolers were introduced to measurements using informal units.
They estimated the length of different materials.
This smart guesses or estimation help them develop critical mindedness and making thoughtful decisions.

After they estimated, they then got the exact length using  informal units such as paperclip, cubes and bears.
What a joy it was for them when they have come as close as possible to their smart guesses!

Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.  A few needed gentle support to stay engaged. On the other hand, many confidently shared their work, explained clas...

Meet the Animals

Students have been actively engaged in preparing for our upcoming Animal Exhibit, showcasing their learning through research, creativity, and collaboration. Each student selected an animal of interest, explored its habitat, diet, and unique adaptations, and created a visual display to share their findings. This week the preschoolers worked in teams to group animals according to their natural habitats—such as grassland, fresh water, polar region, ocean, and forest.  Together, they collaborated to research the features and designed a small-scale habitat that reflect the unique features of each ecosystem. This group project fostered teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity as students and teachers combined their knowledge and ideas to create cohesive, informative, and visually engaging designs.  The final displays beautifully showcase both the diversity of animal life and the power of collaboration. As part of the preparation, preschoolers will practice presentation skills and t...
