Never Stop Wondering and Asking Questions

I Wonder...

The provocations in our Tuning In activities reinforced the preschoolers' interest and curiosity. Now, they are starting to FIND OUT how 'Our Relationships with other build our character and personalities'.

An important key to engage them in this challenging journey is by allowing them to take the lead in their inquiry. One way is by giving them the opportunity to share their voices - through their wonderings.

So, they asked questions...

.

I wonder....

  • Why do we like others?
  • Why do people like to cook and eat?
  • Why are some people happy even things go wrong?
  • Why do people hurt others even it is a 'NO'?
  • Why do people get mad easily?
  • Why do people give things to poor people?
  • Why do people ignore or not look at other people sometimes?
  • Why do people wish to be something else?
These questions will guide the  inquiry of the preschoolers as they discover more about who they are and their relationships with others.

Discovering Myself

...from different perspectives

"Personality may be what I really am and what others see or think about me. It is something that makes me different from others. What other people think about me may be true or not true because some people have the same thinking and other people think of different things about me. My personality can change."

Relationship

"Relationship is being connected to each other. It is hanging out together and being in a group with friends. It is spending time and communicating with each other."

- Perky Preschool 2021 -

The preschoolers worked with a partner and together they discovered many things about each other. They realised that some things and interests are the same and some are different.

Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.  A few needed gentle support to stay engaged. On the other hand, many confidently shared their work, explained clas...

Meet the Animals

Students have been actively engaged in preparing for our upcoming Animal Exhibit, showcasing their learning through research, creativity, and collaboration. Each student selected an animal of interest, explored its habitat, diet, and unique adaptations, and created a visual display to share their findings. This week the preschoolers worked in teams to group animals according to their natural habitats—such as grassland, fresh water, polar region, ocean, and forest.  Together, they collaborated to research the features and designed a small-scale habitat that reflect the unique features of each ecosystem. This group project fostered teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity as students and teachers combined their knowledge and ideas to create cohesive, informative, and visually engaging designs.  The final displays beautifully showcase both the diversity of animal life and the power of collaboration. As part of the preparation, preschoolers will practice presentation skills and t...
