As part of the Preschooler's wonderings about CHOICES, they did a survey to find out DSKI Grade 1-6 student's food choices.
They worked with a partner and and wrote tally marks to represent each count.
Then, they filled in the bar graph to visually represent and compare things between the food groups.
Note: Might not be the actual numbers but for preschooler's survey purpose only. |
We put together the results and they found out that....
- A lot of DSKI students like fruits
- Students like dairy because some are sweet
- The least favourite food group is vegetables
- No one in grade 3 likes vegetables
To gain a deeper understanding on the importance of the different food groups, they also played a game "What's on my Plate?. This activity helped them understand what a balanced and healthy meal looks like.
Finally, the preschoolers were given the task to decide and choose their own healthy and balanced meal by filling in their own "What's on my Plate" chart.
It would be great if they will prepare the meal and try it out with the whole family at home!
Finally, this month Preschooler's hosted the School Assembly and here is their video connected to our Unit on Choices. Enjoy!!
Thank you for your inspiration, Ms.Faye! 🥰
