A Day with Nature

From the moment we arrived at Rokkosan Pasteur, excitement was in the air.   The weather was perfect, the animals were curious, and of course the preschoolers couldn’t wait to explore! The highlight of the day? Meeting the  kids —not the classmates, but the adorable baby goats! The students were able to  feed, pet, and even cuddle the goats, horses, sheep . They were gentle and playful. Some preschoolers were a bit hesitant at first, but by the end of the visit, everyone was laughing and eagerly reaching out to connect with the animals. But this trip was about more than just the fun experience. The goal is to extend their learning about  animal care, natural habitat, and the effect of human to other iving things.  These experiences and observing how animals interact in a natural environment were learning in its most genuine form—engaging, memorable, and will have a long-lasting impact on their lives.    As the day came to an end, tired but happy p...

STEM Week

ASK How can we build a sustainable city for the future? Focus: Urban Farming PLAN  What can we do?  The students meticulously designed their lay-out adding specific details they imagined future Urban Farming would look like.     They explained their ideas to the class. The way each group explained it was very impressive.  Absolutely — there's so much promise in the hands of young learners. When they engage with concepts like urban farming through future-focused thinking, they're not just growing food — they're cultivating innovation, resilience, and sustainability.  It's powerful to imagine a generation that sees technology and nature not as opposites, but as partners in creating a better world. CREATE So what have they innovated? A robot-controlled solar-powered, vertical farm installed inside a skyscraper. Flying cars and drones for crop care (watering, fertilizing, planting, harvesting, and delivering).  Drone-assisted, flying cars for watering...

Animal Exhibit

Behind the Scene The Animal Exhibit There’s a unique kind of magic that happens in the preschool classroom as we dive into the world of animals — the curiosity, the awe, and the joy of these young learners are contagious. This week the preschoolers have been hard at work preparing for one of the most anticipated events of the year:  The Animal Exhibit ! This isn’t your typical school project. This exhibit is a celebration of learning, creativity, and growth. It’s where our little learners transform into budding zoologists, conservationists, and storytellers — all in one. Each child chose an animal to research. Of course, in preschool, research means lots of storytelling, play, guided discussions, and personal reading. They looked at where the animals live, what they eat, how they move, and what is special or unique about them.  With animals selected, the creative fun began! Preschoolers built habitats, created their drawing of the animals, drew and are slowly completing the ch...

Curious Writers

Even at a young age, preschoolers are capable of exploring the world around them with curiosity and excitement. One way to encourage this natural curiosity is by helping them learn how to research animals and prepare for informative writing.  While preschoolers are still learning to read and write, they are developing early research and communication skills through guided exploration, observation, and discussion. A key part of research is asking questions.  Preschoolers are guided to ask simple questions about animals, such as: What does the animal eat? Where does it live? What does it look like? How does it take care of its babies? When they finish their informative writing, they will share it with their classmates, family members, and the school community.  Sharing their work builds confidence and shows them that their ideas and voices matter. Although preschoolers are just beginning their writing journeys, they are already engaged in simple and meaningful research....
