HIS and HER story


What are the important things for us?

Biography is a fascinating read for children. They love hearing stories about other people and making connections to how these people lived. 


Biographies are fantastic ways to make children understand that everyone is different but at the same time, we also have similarities. 

Since the preschoolers are emerging writers, the easiest way to motivate them is to write something about themselves. 


With the support from all the conversations and discussions at home at school, preschoolers were able to learn a little bit about themselves. 

They told their history through their biography. 

It was a struggle and they realized that some of them can do it, but others still can't. But that's okay, it is all a part of growth and change. 

They will continue working on it and try their best, but it will take time and in the end they might be able to celebrate another milestone - as publishers!

FIELD TRIP Children who experience a holistic development during their younger school years grow up to become global citizens.  Taking the students out of the classroom  is important because it provides a balance between indoor and outdoor activities. It prepares them for what it is like in the real world.  As part of our unit on How The World Works which focuses on the science of living things, the preschoolers went out on a field trip to Rokkosan Pasture. In here, the students were immersed and had access to a different environment,  the farm habitat together with the animals who live there.  They experienced interactive learning by feeding and getting up close with these friendly and hungry goats. Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. PRESCHOOLERS and their FAMILIES

  The FAMILY TREE helps the Preschoolers understand the relationship of each members of their family. This representation helps them understand the roles of the mother, father, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, and cousins play in their life history.  The Preschoolers continued to inquire about the personal histories of their family. They worked on their own Family Tree and have started SORTING OUT information that they have gathered from the interview with their parents, discussions and their own knowledge about the members of their family.          They have also made a visual representation of who lives in our home.  Before the Golden week, they did a series mapping exercise.  The place where they have lived or where they have travelled.
