Working Together

Working Together

As preschool ended the first unit on how we organize ourselves, which focused on roles and responsibility, they worked collaboration.

Understanding that each members of the family, school, and outside community should work together as a team to make everything easier.

It should not be a competition,
it is not being the best in a group,
but making sure that everyone is happy and doing their part to do the work.

In a group, there will people who will not agree but we should talk about it and make a choice that is good for everyone.

Through this activity they worked together and gave their part to do the work.

By taking turns,
assigning roles,
making sure that you do your part,
giving your best effort,
asking for help when needed

and
sharing your ideas,

are only some strategies to make any work easier and productive.

But see the faces of these proud young inquirers after presenting their work to the class!

We had some risk-takers and communicators up in front.

A start of the new beginning for more wonderful experiences  and fun at Preschool.

Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.  A few needed gentle support to stay engaged. On the other hand, many confidently shared their work, explained clas...

Field Trip

FIELD TRIP Children who experience a holistic development during their younger school years grow up to become global citizens.  Taking the students out of the classroom  is important because it provides a balance between indoor and outdoor activities. It prepares them for what it is like in the real world.  As part of our unit on How The World Works which focuses on the science of living things, the preschoolers went out on a field trip to Rokkosan Pasture. In here, the students were immersed and had access to a different environment,  the farm habitat together with the animals who live there.  They experienced interactive learning by feeding and getting up close with these friendly and hungry goats. They observed how the animals shared space and played inside their homes. They were able to make connections on how they, as preschoolers socially interact with one another inside the classroom.   The parents who joined the trip also became the teachers a...
