Risk Takers

The best way to understand something is to experience it.

Preschool Police for a day was one fun and exciting experience they had in this unit. The whole school were informed that Preschool will help to make the school safe for everyone.

They did not disappoint.

During outside play, they reminded some students to play fair and be careful not to hurt other students.

They also helped out the teachers return the toys inside the boxes after play.

One brave preschool police even called out an older
student that was caught standing on the table!

“That is not allowed and safe. You might get hurt.” - Haruto

Little Teachers

They taught a simple skill  to G5/6 students and teachers to experience being a teacher for a day.

Like teachers, Haruto showed the students how we tell the days using the calendar. He also explained the importance of knowing the schedule for the day to help you become organized.

Emma taught them how Number Bonds or ‘sticky numbers work’.

As a teacher, Umi taught her students the proper way of coloring. Making sure that they color inside the line, one way and color all the white spaces.

Clara, taught German language to other students.

Ofcourse, the Jollyphonics reading program was a fun teaching tool!

Yui, taught how to draw a beautiful rabbit.

Finally, Mei showed her skill in dancing and took time to teach the other how to dance the 'Waka Waka'

They also continued researching about their chosen community helpers. They worked hard and proved how responsible they are in managing their time to finish the informative book they are writing.

Looking forward to sharing with you all the fruit of their hard work soon!

Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.  A few needed gentle support to stay engaged. On the other hand, many confidently shared their work, explained clas...

Meet the Animals

Students have been actively engaged in preparing for our upcoming Animal Exhibit, showcasing their learning through research, creativity, and collaboration. Each student selected an animal of interest, explored its habitat, diet, and unique adaptations, and created a visual display to share their findings. This week the preschoolers worked in teams to group animals according to their natural habitats—such as grassland, fresh water, polar region, ocean, and forest.  Together, they collaborated to research the features and designed a small-scale habitat that reflect the unique features of each ecosystem. This group project fostered teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity as students and teachers combined their knowledge and ideas to create cohesive, informative, and visually engaging designs.  The final displays beautifully showcase both the diversity of animal life and the power of collaboration. As part of the preparation, preschoolers will practice presentation skills and t...
