Animal Research

After several weeks of Tuning In and Finding Out, the preschoolers are now getting ready to apply their thinking, research, and communication skills.

They will spend the remaining weeks digging deeper and becoming experts to a specific animal.

They chose the animal that they would like to learn more about.
They worked on their research, and found out important information about the animal.

As researchers, they used different tools to gather information.
They looked at books, watched educational videos and interviewed people.

These information were then documented on to their research paper.

They understood that there are things that they know (or think they already know) but they should be able to prove these ideas.

They need evidence to back up their ideas.

Alongside their RESEARCH, they are SORTING OUT information and developing a plan on how to COMMUNICATE their understanding to the audience for the Animal Exhibit.

They started making the animals of their choice.
They have planed presenting the animals in different ways.

Drawing
Painting

Tracing

3D Art

Paper Maché

Mosaic.

It is going to be one small step at a time.

They will continue to be applying their THINKING SKILLS as they think of other ways on how to be systematic and creative on their research presentation.

Next week, they will explore different habitats.

They will go on a field trip to  Rokkosan Pasteur to observe and interact with  different farm animals.

Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.  A few needed gentle support to stay engaged. On the other hand, many confidently shared their work, explained clas...

Have an amazing summer break to all!

A Day with Nature

From the moment we arrived at Rokkosan Pasteur, excitement was in the air.   The weather was perfect, the animals were curious, and of course the preschoolers couldn’t wait to explore! The highlight of the day? Meeting the  kids —not the classmates, but the adorable baby goats! The students were able to  feed, pet, and even cuddle the goats, horses, sheep . They were gentle and playful. Some preschoolers were a bit hesitant at first, but by the end of the visit, everyone was laughing and eagerly reaching out to connect with the animals. But this trip was about more than just the fun experience. The goal is to extend their learning about  animal care, natural habitat, and the effect of human to other iving things.  These experiences and observing how animals interact in a natural environment were learning in its most genuine form—engaging, memorable, and will have a long-lasting impact on their lives.    As the day came to an end, tired but happy p...
