Story Book

\
Narrating their own history
in a form of a story,
is a way to keep it in their memory.

It seems like yesterday when these amazing students joined my preschool class.
I remember them - being nervous but excited to find out what primary school would be like.

Since then it has been an awesome school year with them.
They learned so much about themselves and were all brave to write about it.

As young writers, I remember how we started....

letters,
sounds,
stringing sounds,
phrases,
sentences,
paragraphs...

Now, a book.

But this isn't JUST a book.

It is authentically theirs.
It is a special book that tells about their journey from where they are now.
It tells about the memories, changes and growth.

It reveals their thoughts, dreams and successes.
It proves that they, who used to only care about milk, sleep or play have grown into marvellous independent young persons.

These stories are treasures.
They are priceless and are filled with love.

I as a teacher am so proud to be a part of their stories!

Dear parents, you have given them 5 or 6 years of beautiful memories!
In return, they are excited to share this gift with you.

I am looking forward for them to read their stories to you.

Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.  A few needed gentle support to stay engaged. On the other hand, many confidently shared their work, explained clas...

Field Trip

FIELD TRIP Children who experience a holistic development during their younger school years grow up to become global citizens.  Taking the students out of the classroom  is important because it provides a balance between indoor and outdoor activities. It prepares them for what it is like in the real world.  As part of our unit on How The World Works which focuses on the science of living things, the preschoolers went out on a field trip to Rokkosan Pasture. In here, the students were immersed and had access to a different environment,  the farm habitat together with the animals who live there.  They experienced interactive learning by feeding and getting up close with these friendly and hungry goats. They observed how the animals shared space and played inside their homes. They were able to make connections on how they, as preschoolers socially interact with one another inside the classroom.   The parents who joined the trip also became the teachers a...
