First Week in Preschool

It is important to set the routines and agreement for the first week of school. By doing this, the students are guided towards success and the expectations in class.

The Preschoolers came up with 4 PRESCHOOL AGREEMENT:
1. We are good listeners
2. We stay on task. We start and finish our work.
3. We respect and love everybody.
4. No shouting, running in the classroom and in the hallway.

They all signed their names and promised to keep the agreement this whole school year!

This week we also practiced our ROUTINES.
1. lining up and walking in the hallway
2. chairs pushed in
3. wiping the tables after eating
4. transitioning from one class to the other
5. packing away materials after class work / play

Here are some photos of the Preschoolers busily and focused doing their work.

Next week, we will start with our unit on 'How We Organize Ourselves'.

Night of the Student Led Conference

Preschoolers practice for their upcoming Student Led Conference (SLC) by engaging in mock sessions with peers and teachers. These practices help the students build confidence as they learn to talk about their artwork, classroom routines, and personal growth.  Using the checklist prompted by visuals like portfolios and photo displays, preschoolers explain their learning journey in simple, meaningful ways. Practicing ahead of the actual conference allows them to feel prepared and proud to share with their families.  It fosters communication skills, independence, and a strong sense of ownership over their learning — all foundational for future academic and social success. During the actual Student Led Conference, preschoolers experienced a range of emotions. Some felt nervous facing their parents, while others were visibly tired or overwhelmed by the attention.  A few needed gentle support to stay engaged. On the other hand, many confidently shared their work, explained clas...

Meet the Animals

Students have been actively engaged in preparing for our upcoming Animal Exhibit, showcasing their learning through research, creativity, and collaboration. Each student selected an animal of interest, explored its habitat, diet, and unique adaptations, and created a visual display to share their findings. This week the preschoolers worked in teams to group animals according to their natural habitats—such as grassland, fresh water, polar region, ocean, and forest.  Together, they collaborated to research the features and designed a small-scale habitat that reflect the unique features of each ecosystem. This group project fostered teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity as students and teachers combined their knowledge and ideas to create cohesive, informative, and visually engaging designs.  The final displays beautifully showcase both the diversity of animal life and the power of collaboration. As part of the preparation, preschoolers will practice presentation skills and t...
