Plates Order - Custom Made By Perky Preschoolers

Hello Perky Preschool Parents!  This is the Order Form   to purchase the plate that your child decorated. Let us support the school and PTA through this project.  Let's celebrate the SPIRIT of this SEASON!! 🎄

PRESCHOOLER's Inquiry about Food Choices

As part of the Preschooler's wonderings about CHOICES, they did a survey to find out DSKI Grade 1-6 student's food choices.   They worked with a partner and and wrote tally marks to represent each count.   Then, they filled in the bar graph to visually represent and compare things between the food groups.  Note: Might not be the actual numbers but for preschooler's survey purpose only. We put together the results and they found out that.... A lot of DSKI students like fruits Students like dairy because some are sweet The least favourite food group is vegetables No one in grade 3 likes vegetables To gain a deeper understanding on the importance of the different food groups, they also played a game "What's on my Plate?. This activity helped them understand  what a balanced and healthy meal looks like.    Finally, the preschoolers were given the task to decide and choose their own healthy and balanced meal by filling in their own "What's on my Plate"

PRESCHOOLERS collaborate

UOI AND MATH INTEGRATION Collaboration is when people work together, cooperate, share ideas, knowledge and skills to help each other learn and finish a task.  This week, preschoolers did a lot of activities wherein they collaborated, either with a partner or a group.  Collaboration helps them develop social skills as they learn to problem solve and make good decisions for the task to be successful. Through Rotation math tasks the preschoolers practiced and developed different skills in counting, number recognition, number bonds, and addition. Worked on counting and number recognition to 10s One to one correspondence to 20s   Number Bonds They also played Addition Snakes and Ladders too!  As part of our Tuning In, Perky Preschoolers also came up with their own definition of the words Choices, Personality and Character for our unit.
