Working Together

Working Together As preschool ended the first unit on how we organize ourselves, which focused on roles and responsibility, they worked collaboration. Understanding that each members of the family, school, and outside community should work together as a team to make everything easier.  It should not be a competition, it is not being the best in a group,  but making sure that everyone is happy and doing their part to do the work.  In a group, there will people who will not agree but we should talk about it and make a choice that is good for everyone.  Through this activity they worked together and gave their part to do the work. By taking turns, assigning roles, making sure that you do your part, giving your best effort,  asking for help when needed and sharing your ideas, are only some strategies to make any work easier and productive.  But see the faces of these proud young inquirers after presenting their work to the class!  We had some risk-takers ...

Sorting Out the Roles and Responsibilities

For the Sorting Out stage in our Inquiry on the roles and responsibilities, the preschoolers wrote a riddle about their chosen community helper.  Through their research, they were able to gather information and knowledge about the different roles and responsibilities of people in the community.  ] The prompt 'What do you see?' was used to describe the different things, experiences, tools, people, and the environment they see in their jobs.  We all wear different hats.  Meaning, we take on many different roles and responsibilities in life. As early as preschoolers, students need to understand that these hats are important and help them create relationships with one another and with the people in their community.  So they created a hat and put it on their head to represent themselves as experts in their chosen community helper.
